Joe Lemois

Twenty-four years building sales organizations that scale without losing performance quality — from frontline rep to the executive team that took a SaaS company from $2M to $50M in ARR. Now also advising sales organizations on that same playbook.

The Throughline

Same leader, every room.

I’ve led sales floors at a car dealership, inside a Fortune 500 retailer, across two national financial services firms, and at the helm of a startup I scaled from 5 reps to 250. Different products, different company sizes, different customers — same result every time: the people around me got sharper, and the business grew because of it. Twenty-four years, four industries, one pattern: invest in people first, and the revenue follows.

Who I Am

Built for the climb from frontline to C-suite.

Joe is a results-driven sales executive with a track record of building high-performing organizations from the ground up. Over the past five years as Vice President of Sales at PowerToLight, he architected and executed the enterprise go-to-market strategy that scaled annual recurring revenue from $2M to $50M — a 25x increase — while growing the sales organization from 5 to 250 representatives across multiple national markets.

His leadership is anchored in talent development, disciplined forecasting, and cross-functional alignment. A career that started on the frontline and grew into the executive suite gives him a rare combination of street-level sales expertise and strategic vision: the systems, culture, and accountability structures that let a sales organization scale without losing performance quality.

Signature Engagement · PowerToLight, 2020–Present

Five reps and $2M in ARR. Four years later, 250 reps and $50M.

Situation

PowerToLight recruited Joe to lead a complete sales transformation — take an early-stage SaaS operation with a five-person sales team and turn it into a national market leader, from the ground up.

Approach

He architected a national go-to-market playbook synchronizing inbound and outbound campaigns with digital marketing and lead generation, built the hiring pipelines and onboarding frameworks to scale the team responsibly, and put forecasting models and performance dashboards in place so leadership could make decisions on real data. He also became the company’s primary executive presence at trade shows, panels, and client presentations — staying closely aligned with the C-suite and product team along the way.

Result

ARR grew from $2M to $50M+ in under four years — a 25x increase with a sustained 25% year-over-year growth rate — while the sales organization scaled from 5 to 250 representatives across multiple national markets, without losing performance standards.

The Journey

Twenty-four years, one throughline.

It started in a dealership. At Bob Dance Dodge in Orlando (2008–2010), he grew territory sales from $4M to $6.2M in two years and held the #1 Sales Manager ranking both years — not by outworking everyone alone, but by building a team that believed it could.

From there, Best Buy (2010–2014), where he led a regional team past budget by more than 145%, earning the #1 spot in national revenue generation, and started building the coaching culture that would define the rest of his career.

Financial services came next — New York Life (2014–2018), then Guardian Financial (2018–2020) — where he traded transactional selling for real advisory relationships. He picked up a shelf of recognition along the way, including National Award Winner status at New York Life and President’s Club at Guardian Financial (the full list is below, if you’re curious).

Then, in 2020, PowerToLight recruited him to lead a complete sales transformation — the engagement detailed above, where frontline instincts and advisory discipline came together to build the go-to-market engine that took the company from $2M to $50M in ARR.

Advisory & Consulting

I’m here to help you build, scale, and put the right process in place.

Beyond my role as VP of Sales, I consult with sales organizations that want to scale without losing performance quality — applying the same go-to-market architecture, hiring systems, and forecasting discipline that took PowerToLight from $2M to $50M in ARR.

Every engagement starts wherever your organization is stuck: an early-stage team that needs its first real GTM playbook, or a scaling team whose growth has started to outrun its systems. Either way, I'm there to help you build it right and put the process in place to hold it.

Curious what this could look like inside your own sales team? I'd like to sit down with you and your team, walk through where you're stuck, and show you exactly what I'd build if this were my organization to run.

Coaching & Mentoring

Great sales careers rarely happen alone.

My own path from frontline rep to VP wasn’t built on individual performance alone — it was built on people who invested in me, and on what I learned investing in others along the way. That’s the same lens I bring to coaching today.

Whether you’re a rep trying to break into leadership, a new manager finding your footing, or an experienced leader who wants a sounding board, I work directly with people who are serious about getting better — real conversations about your deals, your team, and the specific things standing between you and the next level.

I’ve watched people go from missing quota to running their own regions. If you’re ready to invest in yourself the way someone once invested in me, I’d like to be part of that.

Great sales organizations are built on three pillars: trust, accountability, and relentless positivity. The most important investment a leader can make is in their people. When a team believes in itself and operates inside a clear, high-performance system, the revenue results follow naturally.
